Responsibilities
- Design and oversee highway construction/improvement projects in Arlington and surrounding areas
- Conduct traffic studies and analyze data to optimize traffic flow and safety measures
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, plans, and specifications for state-funded projects
- Coordinate with local agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and compliance with federal/state regulations
- Investigate traffic accidents and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Manage environmental compliance documentation and permitting processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of transportation engineering experience
- Valid Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and traffic simulation software
- Strong knowledge of TxDOT design standards and MUTCD guidelines
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Federal and state grant administration experience preferred
