Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Monitor airport operations and report suspicious activities or security breaches
- Enforce TSA security regulations and maintain checkpoint efficiency
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Maintain accurate screening logs and documentation of security protocols
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
