Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screenings according to TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to security incidents with professionalism
- Communicate effectively with travelers and colleagues regarding security procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities and incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other airport personnel during emergencies
- Adhere to all TSA policies and federal regulations while maintaining passenger dignity
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency and strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions and a clean employment history
