Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Operate sophisticated security equipment including millimeter wave scanners and trace detection devices
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints to ensure compliance with federal regulations and operational procedures
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies with calm professionalism following established protocols
- Document security activities and maintain accurate records of screening operations
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining security standards
- Participate in continuous training programs to stay current on security threats and procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory
- Minimum age of 18 years at the time of appointment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
