Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual inspection techniques
- Conduct thorough security checks at airport checkpoints while maintaining professional demeanor
- Operate TSA-approved equipment including metal detectors, explosive detection systems, and trace detection portals
- Enforce TSA security protocols with firmness and fairness while providing excellent customer service
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed records of screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on security procedures and threat detection
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screening
- Must be willing to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Must complete TSA-mandated training program upon hire
