Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using X-ray machines and manual detection techniques
- Conduct thorough physical searches of persons and property when required
- Operate advanced security equipment including EDS and trace detection systems
- Monitor airport operations and report suspicious activities to supervisors
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining courteous passenger interactions
- Document security incidents and screening activities accurately
- Participate in mandatory security training and certification programs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Pass pre-employment background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if required for location)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills for documentation systems
