Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced passenger and baggage screening using X-ray technology and manual inspection techniques
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining professional demeanor during high-pressure situations
- Identify and report suspicious items, prohibited materials, and security threats
- Provide clear instructions to travelers regarding screening procedures and regulations
- Operate and maintain security screening equipment including X-ray machines, metal detectors, and trace detectors
- Document security incidents and screening activities with precision and attention to detail
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Proficient in English with strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and aptitude for learning security technology
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid government-issued photo identification
