Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Identify and report suspicious items, prohibited materials, and potential security threats
- Operate advanced imaging technology and maintain equipment calibration
- Provide clear instructions to travelers while maintaining efficient checkpoint flow
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate operational records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other security agencies during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer skills for documentation and equipment operation
