Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray scanners and manual inspection techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints to ensure compliance with TSA regulations and procedures
- Interact professionally with travelers while maintaining a calm demeanor during high-stress situations
- Operate advanced screening equipment including EDS, ETD, and trace detection systems
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to protocol
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency scenarios
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding security operations and passenger information
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual candidates preferred)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
