Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct thorough physical pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required
- Verify passenger identification documents and boarding passes against flight manifests
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect suspicious items or behaviors
- Enforce TSA security regulations with professionalism and customer service focus
- Respond to security alerts and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary
- Maintain detailed logs of security incidents and screening activities
- Train on and implement updated security procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
