Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Operate walk-through metal detectors and explosive detection equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strict security procedures
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities in accordance with federal guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security escalations
- Continuously update knowledge on evolving security threats and screening technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse populations
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with screening equipment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to airport shifts
