Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray and millimeter wave scanners to detect prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage
- Conduct thorough physical screenings of passengers and personal belongings
- Maintain strict compliance with TSA security protocols and SOPs
- Provide exceptional customer service during security screening interactions
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities in compliance with federal reporting requirements
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel on security initiatives
- Participate in recurrent training on new screening technologies and threat detection
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must pass Transportation Security Screening Skills Test (TSSST)
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if required for position duties)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
