Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Conduct pat-down searches and explosive trace detection when necessary
- Monitor security checkpoints and ensure compliance with TSA regulations and protocols
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor during interactions
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities accurately in required reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to address security concerns
- Maintain operational readiness of screening equipment and report maintenance needs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Valid state driver's license
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
