Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Monitor checkpoints to detect prohibited items and ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security protocols
- Operate advanced screening equipment and report malfunctions
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement during security escalations
- Train on new security technologies and procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass TSA Transportation Security Officer (TSO) certification
