Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches when necessary while maintaining passenger dignity
- Identify and report prohibited items, suspicious behavior, and security threats
- Operate advanced screening equipment and maintain security checkpoint protocols
- Provide clear instructions to travelers during the screening process
- Collaborate with law enforcement and TSA leadership during security incidents
- Document screening activities and maintain accurate security logs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. National status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- No felony convictions or recent misdemeanor convictions
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
