Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Perform physical pat-downs and baggage searches as required by security protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Maintain constant situational awareness and report suspicious activities or items
- Provide courteous and professional assistance to travelers with special needs
- Adhere to TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and federal regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Complete detailed documentation of screening activities and security breaches
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass thorough background investigation and security clearance
- Ability to pass medical examination and drug screening
- Valid government-issued photo identification
- Basic computer proficiency for operating screening equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
