Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on luggage
- Conduct pat-down searches and explosive trace detection when required
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for all passengers
- Manage security checkpoint flow while maintaining professional demeanor under pressure
- Enforce TSA security regulations with tact and cultural sensitivity
- Respond to security incidents and emergency situations following established protocols
- Maintain accurate screening documentation and daily activity reports
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status with valid work authorization
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
- Basic computer proficiency for screening equipment operation
- No felony convictions or disqualifying employment history
