Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual search techniques
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections according to TSA protocols
- Operate advanced security technology including ETDs and trace detection equipment
- Enforce airport security regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Respond to security alerts and emergency situations following established procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security operations
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal permanent residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass federal background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency for security systems operation
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills in English (Spanish fluency preferred)
