Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using advanced X-ray and metal detection equipment
- Conduct thorough physical searches of individuals and property as required
- Operate and monitor baggage screening systems to detect prohibited items
- Enforce TSA security protocols and procedures with professionalism and respect
- Communicate effectively with travelers regarding security requirements
- Document security incidents and screening activities accurately
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security operations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security screening technologies
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must pass TSA Security Screening Test and medical evaluation
