Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect potential threats and ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Communicate effectively with travelers regarding security procedures and requirements
- Operate advanced security equipment including walk-through metal detectors and trace detection systems
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate records of screening activities
- Respond to emergency situations following TSA protocols and guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to maintain security operations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and security clearance
- Valid state driver's license (if required for position duties)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass pre-employment medical examination and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
