Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using advanced X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and bag inspections to detect prohibited items
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity with appropriate protocols
- Operate and maintain complex security equipment including CT scanners and trace detection systems
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security regulations
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate operational records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent GED certification
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in English communication (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Basic computer skills for documentation systems
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure during high-volume situations
