Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and metal detectors to screen passengers and baggage for prohibited items
- Conduct thorough physical pat-downs and bag inspections following TSA protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security regulations
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security breaches
- Stay current on TSA policies and emerging security threats through ongoing training
- Assist with passenger flow management during peak travel times
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status with required documentation
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency for screening equipment operation
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
