Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and explosive trace detection when required
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity per TSA protocols
- Operate state-of-the-art screening equipment including CT scanners and ETDs
- Enforce TSA security regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Collaborate with law enforcement during security incidents or emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities and security reports
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or GED (minimum education)
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and drug screening
- Successfully complete TSA Security Screening Officer training program
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency for equipment operation
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
