Responsibilities
- Conduct Security Screening: Operate X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology to screen passengers and their property.
- Passenger Interaction: Provide courteous and efficient customer service to travelers while explaining security procedures and resolving issues calmly.
- Baggage Inspection: Inspect carry-on and checked baggage to detect prohibited items, weapons, or explosives.
- Physical Screening: Perform pat-downs and physical searches on passengers when required by screening protocols.
- Enforce Regulations: Adhere strictly to TSA regulations and security directives to ensure the safety of the flight deck and cabin.
- Shift Work: Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to maintain 24/7 security operations.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or a National, or Lawful Permanent Resident alien at the time of appointment.
- Background Check: Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a criminal history records check.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy baggage, and pass a medical examination.
- Character: Must possess the character and fitness standards required for federal employment.
