Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct thorough physical pat-downs and baggage inspections when necessary
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identities
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities or items
- Enforce TSA security regulations and communicate procedures to travelers
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Maintain accurate logs of security screenings and incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with security screening equipment
- Pass background check and drug screening
