Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and explosive trace detection equipment
- Perform physical screening of passengers and carry-on baggage per TSA protocols
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security events
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security software systems
