Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Perform physical pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Monitor passenger flow and maintain orderly screening checkpoints
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to TSA procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Enforce TSA regulations regarding carry-on and checked baggage restrictions
- Provide excellent customer service to travelers while maintaining security standards
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security systems
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
