As a TSA Security Screener, you'll operate advanced screening technologies, conduct thorough passenger and baggage inspections, and maintain a secure environment at one of New York's busiest transportation hubs. Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive detection systems to screen passengers and baggage
- Conduct physical pat-downs and baggage searches following TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and identify potential security threats
- Provide excellent customer service to travelers while maintaining security standards
- Document security incidents and submit detailed reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security breaches
- Maintain strict adherence to TSA Standard Operating Procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if applicable to position)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new technologies
