Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct thorough physical pat-downs and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for compliance with security regulations
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious items or behavior
- Communicate effectively with passengers and colleagues regarding security procedures
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a thorough background investigation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for operating screening equipment
