Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray systems and manual inspection techniques to detect prohibited items
- Operate sophisticated security equipment including millimeter wave scanners, explosive trace detection devices, and CT scanners
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols and legal guidelines
- Monitor security checkpoints via CCTV systems and report suspicious activities or anomalies to supervisors
- Provide clear instructions to travelers regarding security procedures while maintaining professional demeanor
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and airport personnel to resolve security incidents
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities and security incidents
- Participate in continuous training programs to stay current on evolving security threats and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Pass rigorous background investigation, fingerprinting, and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficient in English with excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
