Responsibilities
- Operate advanced X-ray and CT scanners to detect prohibited items in passenger baggage
- Conduct thorough passenger screenings using walk-through metal detectors and hand-held wands
- Perform explosive trace detection procedures on luggage and personal items
- Manage security checkpoints efficiently while maintaining professional customer service
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate operational logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Participate in continuous training on security protocols and emerging threats
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Hawaii driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass TSA background investigation and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security software systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
