Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray and screening equipment to detect prohibited items in baggage and personal belongings
- Conduct thorough physical screenings of passengers and carry-on items using advanced detection technologies
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining professional demeanor during high-pressure interactions
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to TSA procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to resolve security concerns
- Provide clear instructions to passengers regarding security requirements and prohibited items
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status with valid work authorization
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Proficiency in English with strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy for operating screening equipment and documentation systems
