We are currently hiring dedicated Security Screeners for our Fort Wayne, Indiana location. If you are looking for a stable career with the federal government and do not have prior security experience, we want to hear from you. Full training is provided to all new hires.
As a Security Screener, you will play a crucial role in protecting the traveling public and the nation's transportation systems. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and customer service skills will be valued.
Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray machines and advanced imaging technology to inspect carry-on baggage and personal property for prohibited items.
- Pat-Downs: Perform thorough physical searches of passengers to ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Customer Service: Assist travelers with questions and provide clear instructions in a courteous and professional manner.
- Emergency Response: Respond immediately to security threats, alarms, or emergency situations following established protocols.
- Regulatory Compliance: Enforce TSA security policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow officers to maintain a secure and efficient checkpoint environment.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: United States citizenship is required.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a federal background investigation, including a fingerprint-based check and drug screen.
- Availability: Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Visual Acuity: Good vision (with or without correction) and color perception are necessary.
