Responsibilities
- Passenger Screening: Perform effective screening of passengers, property, and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines and metal detectors to identify threats.
- Pat-Downs & Wands: Conduct thorough pat-downs and wand searches as required to ensure security compliance and passenger safety.
- Behavioral Observation: Use behavioral observation techniques to identify individuals who may pose a threat to the airport environment.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally and courteously with the traveling public, providing clear instructions and maintaining a calm demeanor during high-stress situations.
- Documentation: Accurately document screening results, incidents, and equipment malfunctions in accordance with federal regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain screening equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the proper authorities immediately.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Background Check: Must successfully complete a federal background investigation and drug screening.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, walking, lifting, and reaching.
- Clean Record: No felony convictions, criminal history, or immigration status issues that would prevent federal employment.
