Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive detection systems
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Maintain constant vigilance for suspicious items, behaviors, or security threats
- Operate airport security equipment and follow TSA Standard Operating Procedures
- Communicate professionally with diverse travelers during security screening processes
- Document security incidents and report suspicious activities to supervisors
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a thorough background investigation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security technologies
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
