Responsibilities
- Conduct Security Screening: Perform effective screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo in accordance with TSA security directives and procedures.
- Operate Security Equipment: Utilize X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology to identify prohibited items while maintaining efficiency.
- Enforce Regulations: Adhere strictly to all TSA regulations, laws, and policies to ensure the highest level of aviation security.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with the traveling public, providing clear instructions, and resolving security concerns with patience and courtesy.
- Physical Screening: Conduct pat-downs and physical searches of individuals and their property when necessary to resolve security anomalies.
- Incident Reporting: Report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or equipment malfunctions immediately to your supervisor.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a diverse team environment to maintain smooth airport operations and high throughput.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Education: Must possess a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Communication: Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a background investigation and obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a medical exam and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Attitude: Must demonstrate a professional demeanor, good judgment, and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
