Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Operate airport security equipment including metal detectors, CT scanners, and trace detection systems
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining security standards and efficiency
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to TSA procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Stay current with TSA policies and security threat updates through ongoing training
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national
- Successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel if needed
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- No felony convictions or disqualifying employment history
