Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screening using X-ray machines and walk-through detectors
- Inspect carry-on and checked luggage for prohibited items and security threats
- Operate advanced security technology and maintain equipment functionality
- Provide professional customer service to travelers while enforcing security regulations
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and security personnel during emergency situations
- Adhere to TSA policies and procedures to ensure consistent security standards
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures
- Basic computer skills for operating screening equipment and documentation systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
- Willingness to complete paid training program (approximately 2-4 weeks)
