Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray technology and walk-through metal detectors.
- Perform physical pat-downs and searches in accordance with TSA security directives and privacy policies.
- Identify prohibited items and dangerous materials to ensure the safety of the aviation system.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with a diverse and high-volume of travelers.
- Monitor security checkpoints to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Assist in the removal and storage of prohibited items in a safe and organized manner.
- Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational demands.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and medical assessment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions precisely.
- Ability to pass the TSA Transportation Security Officer Basic Training course.
