Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems
- Enforce TSA regulations and security protocols while maintaining courteous and professional interactions with travelers
- Identify and report suspicious items, prohibited materials, and potential security threats to supervisory personnel
- Operate advanced screening equipment and maintain accurate documentation of security incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to resolve security concerns efficiently
- Participate in continuous training programs to stay updated on evolving security procedures and technologies
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards while balancing traveler experience and throughput efficiency
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
