Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual inspection techniques
- Conduct pat-down searches and bag inspections when security protocols require
- Monitor security checkpoints and alert supervisors of suspicious activities or items
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Provide courteous customer service to travelers while enforcing security regulations
- Operate advanced screening technology and report equipment malfunctions
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old and fluent in English
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must successfully complete TSA's paid training program
