Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray scanners and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity with swift, professional action
- Operate state-of-the-art security equipment including CT scanners and explosive detection systems
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security regulations with firmness and respect
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate checkpoint activity logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in operating security screening technology
- Excellent communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
