Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA guidelines
- Monitor security checkpoints and identify potential security threats
- Communicate effectively with passengers regarding security procedures
- Prepare detailed incident reports for security violations or suspicious items
- Maintain strict adherence to TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Valid state driver's license or government-issued photo ID
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security technologies
