Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security equipment
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect prohibited items and ensure regulatory compliance
- Operate advanced imaging technology and explosive detection systems
- Provide courteous assistance to travelers regarding security procedures
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities in official reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Proficient in English communication (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Must be available to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
