Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect prohibited items and ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining firm security protocols
- Operate and maintain screening equipment including metal detectors, X-ray machines, and trace detection devices
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to TSA procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on security protocols and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills for operating screening equipment
- Must be willing to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
