Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray scanners and manual pat-down techniques
- Operate advanced detection equipment including millimeter wave scanners and explosive trace detection devices
- Conduct thorough baggage and cargo inspections according to TSA protocols
- Respond to security alerts and emergency situations with calm professionalism
- Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during joint security operations
- Train on evolving security technologies and threat detection methodologies
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal resident status with required immigration documentation
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass rigorous background investigation and drug screening
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Memphis International Airport
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4-6 hours continuously)
- Proficient in English communication (reading, writing, speaking)
- Basic computer literacy for operating security equipment
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance
