Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for public employees including benefit calculations, eligibility verification, and retirement counseling
- Process retirement applications and ensure compliance with Ohio Revised Code and federal regulations
- Develop and deliver educational workshops on retirement planning and pension benefits
- Collaborate with financial institutions and government agencies to manage retirement fund investments
- Prepare detailed reports on pension fund status and recommend policy improvements
- Handle confidential employee data with strict adherence to privacy regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Ohio public retirement systems
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Workday, SAP) and data analysis tools
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex retirement concepts
- Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to travel within the region
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation highly desirable
