Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive neighborhood planning initiatives and zoning code revisions
- Analyze demographic data and environmental impact for major development projects
- Collaborate with community boards and stakeholders on public engagement strategies
- Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations for City Council approval
- Oversee land use applications and ensure compliance with municipal regulations
- Coordinate with state agencies on cross-jurisdictional infrastructure projects
- Develop innovative solutions for affordable housing and climate resilience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in municipal planning or public sector development
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and urban modeling tools
- Strong understanding of NYC zoning regulations and land use laws
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
