Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex government software applications and databases to support municipal operations.
- Analyze existing IT systems to identify inefficiencies and recommend strategic improvements for city services.
- Collaborate with city departments to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Ensure all systems comply with federal, state, and local government regulations and security standards.
- Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers and IT staff.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical system outages and coordinate with vendors for third-party software support.
- Document technical processes and create training materials for city employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems analysis or software development within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and JavaScript.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) and government security clearance protocols.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder presentations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
