Responsibilities
- Network Management: Design, configure, and maintain local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN) to ensure optimal performance and security.
- System Administration: Oversee server maintenance, patch management, and operating system upgrades (Windows Server, Linux).
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to ensure compliance with federal government standards and regulations.
- Technical Support: Provide tier-2 and tier-3 technical support to internal staff, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of system failures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering within a government or enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing Active Directory, Microsoft Server 2019/2022, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
